Oterra’s sustainability management recognized by EcoVadis

Oterra earns an EcoVadis Silver medal, ranking in the top 15% globally, and is recognized as a Leader in carbon management for its sustainability practices.

Oterra has been awarded an EcoVadis Silver medal in recognition of its sustainability management, placing it in the top 15% of all companies assessed by EcoVadis globally in the past 12 months.

EcoVadis is a recognized platform that evaluates companies on how they manage environmental, social, ethical, and procurement practices.

“This Silver medal reflects the maturity of our processes, policies, and ways of working at Oterra,” said Head of Global Sustainability Vera Karmeback. “It is a recognition of the quality of our sustainability management system and demonstrates our commitment to promoting transparency throughout the value chain.”

“Earning the EcoVadis Silver medal shows our customers and partners that Oterra’s commitments are backed by structured processes, transparency, and measurable progress. For us, it’s not just about achieving a rating, but about continuously strengthening the systems and partnerships that enable long-term impact across our value chain.”

Oterra a ‘Leader’ in carbon management

Apart from the main rating, EcoVadis also evaluates companies on carbon management. Oterra has been ranked ‘Leader’ - the highest rating available. EcoVadis states that Oterra is a “company with a strong GHG management system and best-in-class decarbonization commitments, actions and reporting capabilities”.

Protecting the natural systems that grow raw materials is both a responsibility and a strategic imperative for Oterra. The company recently updated its Sustainability Strategy setting out ambitious 2030 targets to reduce impact while keeping pace with the growing demand for colors sourced from natural ingredients.

The strategy includes goals for no deforestation, water stewardship, waste recycled or reused, SBTi validated greenhouse gas targets, energy efficiency and gender distribution targets, health and safety, business integrity, and responsible sourcing.

A large part of the company’s 2030 emissions roadmap focuses on ‘carbon farming’ – decarbonization initiatives, such as reducing the use of non-organic fertilizers or improving soils so they store more carbon.

"Earning the EcoVadis Silver medal shows our customers and partners that Oterra’s commitments are backed by structured processes, transparency, and measurable progress."
